Job Description:

We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accountant Assistant to join our finance team in Puchong, Selangor. The successful candidate will provide crucial support in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in accounting processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory regulations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining financial documents, including invoices, purchase orders, and payment vouchers.
  • Support the accounts payable and receivable processes by verifying and recording transactions accurately.
  • Reconcile bank statements and assist in resolving discrepancies.
  • Prepare periodic financial reports such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets, under supervision.
  • Maintain and update accounting files, ledgers, and databases with detailed data entry.
  • Assist with payroll processing by preparing timesheets and calculating deductions.
  • Help prepare tax documents and ensure compliance with Malaysian tax regulations (e.g., SST).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes by gathering financial data.
  • Liaise with vendors, clients, and internal departments for invoice and payment-related inquiries.
  • Assist auditors during financial audits by providing necessary documentation.
  • Perform general administrative duties related to the accounting department.

Requirements:

Educational Background:

  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of working experience in an accounting or finance role, ideally within Malaysia.
  • Familiarity with Malaysian accounting standards and tax regulations (SST knowledge is a plus).

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficient in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks, AutoCount, or similar systems).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Integrity and confidentiality in handling sensitive financial data.
