Camera Workshop Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly organized and responsible Camera Workshop Specialist to be the cornerstone of our hands-on photography workshops. This role is critical to ensuring our participants have a seamless and positive experience with our professional camera equipment. You will be the primary custodian of our gear, responsible for its logistics, security, and maintenance before, during, and after each event. This is a hands-on, travel-intensive role perfect for a photography enthusiast who enjoys working with people and technology.

Key Responsibilities:1. Pre-Workshop Logistics & Planning:Liaise closely with the Workshop Master to understand the technical requirements and objectives of each workshop.

Plan, prepare, and pack all necessary camera equipment (cameras, lenses, lighting, accessories) based on the workshop syllabus and participant numbers.

Manage and maintain a meticulous and up-to-date master inventory list of all workshop equipment.

2. Equipment & Inventory Management:

Conduct thorough pre- and post-workshop equipment checks to ensure all items are in perfect working order.

Meticulously track all equipment movement using an “in and out” recording system.

Perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting on equipment during events.

Report any damage, loss, or malfunction to management promptly.

3. On-Site Workshop Execution:

Travel to workshop locations across Malaysia, transporting all equipment safely.

Set up the equipment station in an organized and accessible manner.

Manage the loaning of equipment to participants:

Record participant names, contact information, and the specific items loaned.

Clearly explain the proper handling and care of the equipment.

Collect and inspect all loaned equipment at the end of the session, ensuring its return in good condition.

4. Equipment Safety & Security:

Serve as the primary point of responsibility for the safety and security of all equipment valued at thousands of Ringgit.

Ensure equipment is always stored securely and transported in appropriate protective cases.

Vigilantly monitor equipment during the workshop to prevent loss or misuse.

Qualifications & Experience:

Minimum of a Diploma or equivalent practical experience in photography, videography, logistics, or a related field.

Proven experience in handling and managing professional camera equipment is prefered

Strong technical knowledge of various camera brands (Canon, Nikon, Sony, etc.), lenses, and photography accessories.

Skills & Competencies:

Exceptional organizational and inventory management skills.

Meticulous attention to detail is non-negotiable.

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for liaising with the Workshop Master and participants.

High level of responsibility, integrity, and trustworthiness.

Ability to work independently, problem-solve on the fly, and remain calm under pressure.

Physically capable of handling and transporting heavy cases of equipment.

Travel Requirements:

This role requires extensive travel across Malaysia.

Candidates must possess their own reliable car and a valid driver’s license.

Must be willing to travel frequently, often on weekends, and sometimes for multiple-day events.
