Cnc Machining Supervisor

Role Overview

Oversees daily machining operations, ensuring production output meets quality, efficiency, and safety standards. Manages a team of CNC machinists/programmers, plans schedules, troubleshoots machining issues, and ensures machines and tooling are maintained in optimal condition.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily CNC machining activities.
• Assign jobs, manage workflow, and monitor production progress to meet deadlines.
• Optimize machining parameters, tooling, and work-holding methods.
• Ensure correct CNC programs, drawings, and specifications are used.

Quality Control

• Inspect first-article and in-process parts to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Enforce adherence to engineering drawings, tolerances, and quality standards (ISO, customer specs)

Team Leadership

• Lead, train, and mentor CNC operators and machinists.
• Evaluate performance, conduct skill assessments, and arrange upskilling.
• Promote a safe, disciplined, and productive work culture.

Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Ensure CNC machines are properly maintained and calibrated.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, tooling, and programming issues to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate major repairs with maintenance teams or vendors.

Process Improvement

• Improve cycle time, setup time, and tooling life.
• Support continuous improvement and automation initiatives.
