Quality Engineer

Responsibilities:

1. Drawing Review: Carefully analyze sheet metal and machining product drawings, accurately mark key dimensions and tolerance requirements, collaborate with design and process departments to clarify doubts, and ensure the accuracy of processing references.

2. First Article Inspection: Conduct comprehensive dimensional inspections on new products or after process adjustments, covering shape, hole diameter, bending angles, etc. Record data in detail and determine acceptance to strictly control the entry quality of new products.

3. In-Process Inspection: Regularly inspect the production site, monitor equipment stability, tool wear, and process parameter compliance; inspect in-process products based on sampling plans to detect dimensional deviations and surface defects in time and ensure corrective actions to prevent batch defects.

4. Measuring Tool Management: Select and calibrate commonly used measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.), standardize daily usage and storage procedures, and maintain records to track measurement accuracy and ensure precision.

5. Data Analysis: Collect and organize inspection data, generate SPC charts to analyze process variations, provide quantitative support for process optimization and quality improvement, and regularly report quality trends.

6. Defect Handling: Identify defective products, label and isolate them; collaborate with production and engineering teams to analyze root causes using the 5M (Man, Machine, Material, Method, Environment) approach, implement corrective measures, and ensure defects are reduced to zero.

7. Documentation Management: Develop and update inspection guidelines and quality record forms, document quality issues and solutions, facilitate internal knowledge sharing, and contribute to team skill enhancement.

8. Training and Collaboration: Conduct regular quality training for frontline employees, promote quality standards and case studies; work closely with R&D, design, procurement, and after-sales teams to resolve technical challenges and optimize product lifecycle quality.

Qualifications:

Education Background:

1. Quality Engineer: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Materials, Mechatronics, or related fields.

2. Quality Technician: Associate degree or higher in Science and Engineering; high school or technical school graduates with relevant experience are also acceptable.

Knowledge and Skills:

1. Proficient in reading 2D and 3D sheet metal and machining drawings and understanding various tolerance notations.

2. Familiar with sheet metal (laser cutting, bending, etc.) and machining (turning, milling, etc.) processes, understanding how process parameters affect quality.

3. Skilled in operating measuring tools and equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).

4. Engineers should be proficient in quality tools such as APQP and FMEA, while technicians should have basic knowledge of these applications.

5. Proficient in Office software, especially Excel for data statistics and analysis.

Work Experience:

1. Engineer: 3-5 years of quality control experience in sheet metal and machining, with a track record of process improvement.

2. Technician: 1-3 years of hands-on quality control experience.
