We are looking for an experienced and passionate General Manager with a strong background in the Food & Beverage industry to lead our premium Chinese dining restaurant at Canton Court, Pavilion KL. The ideal candidate must be fluent in Mandarin, possess solid leadership skills, and have a sharp eye for service excellence, profitability, and operational efficiency.
Restaurant Operations
- Oversee end-to-end daily operations of the restaurant, including kitchen, floor, and service teams.
- Ensure all F&B offerings meet high-quality standards in terms of taste, presentation, and consistency.
- Maintain restaurant cleanliness, hygiene, and compliance with safety and health regulations (e.g. HACCP, local licensing).
- Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house.
People Management
- Recruit, train, and supervise staff including service crew, chefs, and supervisors.
- Provide ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and development for team members.
- Lead daily briefings and motivate the team to meet service standards and upsell targets.
Guest Experience
- Ensure top-tier service delivery to all guests, especially VIPs and Mandarin-speaking customers.
- Handle customer complaints or special requests professionally and promptly.
- Build rapport with regular diners and corporate clients to encourage return visits.
Sales & Revenue Growth
- Achieve sales targets, monitor food cost, and control wastage and overheads.
- Develop promotions, festive menus, and marketing strategies to boost customer traffic and spending.
- Identify new business opportunities including partnerships and group bookings.
Financial Oversight
- Manage restaurant P&L, budgets, and reporting.
- Conduct stock ordering, inventory control, and supplier negotiations.
- Review daily sales, monthly reports, and implement corrective action plans if needed.
Strategic Planning
- Work closely with the company’s top management to execute brand direction and business goals.
- Conduct market analysis and monitor competitor offerings and pricing.
- Lead opening plans for new outlets if the brand expands.
Requirements:
- Minimum Diploma or Degree in Hospitality, Culinary, F&B Management or related fields.
- At least 5–7 years of experience in restaurant operations, with 3+ years in a senior managerial position.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide large F&B teams.
- Must be fluent in Mandarin and English (spoken & written).
- Excellent knowledge of Chinese cuisine, dining etiquette, and luxury service is a strong plus.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze numbers and improve operational performance.
- Able to work under pressure, during weekends/public holidays, and in fast-paced environments.
