Field Service Engineer (Precision / Large Equipment)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and technically sound Field Service Engineer to oversee the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of our high-end, large-scale precision equipment. The ideal candidate will serve as a crucial technical bridge between our Chinese-speaking corporate team and local clients, ensuring optimal machine performance and exceptional customer satisfaction.

🎯 Key Responsibilities:

1. Installation & Commissioning:
   • Lead the on-site installation, calibration, testing, and final acceptance of large/high-end equipment at client facilities, ensuring strict compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
2. Preventive Maintenance (PM):
   • Develop, implement, and execute routine maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime and maximize machine operational lifespan.
3. Troubleshooting & Technical Repair:
   • Promptly diagnose complex electrical, mechanical, and automated system faults. Execute effective repairs and provide timely feedback/reports on solutions to management and internal technical departments.
4. Client & Team Coordination:
   • Act as the primary on-site technical representative. Effectively coordinate and balance requirements between clients and internal engineering teams.
5. Reporting & Training:
   • Draft professional technical service logs, incident reports, and failure analysis documentation. Provide hands-on operational and maintenance training to clients’ technicians.

⚠️ CRITICAL REQUIREMENTS (Must-Have):

• Industry Background: Must possess hands-on experience in the precision equipment industry or large-scale industrial machinery after-sales service/maintenance. (Seniority is flexible; junior to mid-level candidates who are technically capable and adaptable to field service are welcome).
• Language Proficiency: Professional fluency in both Mandarin and English (spoken and written) is mandatory to facilitate smooth communication between the Chinese engineering team and local English-speaking clients.
• Mobility & Flexibility: High resilience and willingness to travel frequently between Kajang and Penang to handle regular maintenance and emergency breakdowns.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or relevant technical disciplines. (Exceptional candidates with strong practical experience will be considered regardless of degree).
• Preferred Experience: Prior technical experience in PCB manufacturing, semiconductor, or the electronics equipment industry will be a significant advantage.
• Technical Skills:
  • Solid understanding of equipment maintenance and troubleshooting protocols (mechanical/electrical).
  • Good technical report writing skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and office automation tools.
• Soft Skills: High customer-service orientation, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong awareness of business confidentiality and teamwork.
• Other Requirements: Possession of a valid driving license (and own vehicle) is highly preferred to facilitate cross-regional travel to client sites.
