KUALA LUMPUR, 5 October 2026 — The CariJob team met with the Archdiocesan Office for Human Development (AOHD), Kuala Lumpur, at Cahaya Suara in Bukit Bintang for a meaningful discussion on improving employment opportunities for the deaf community.
The meeting focused on one important question: How can we help more deaf jobseekers secure employment?
During the session, AOHD shared insights into the challenges faced by deaf jobseekers when seeking employment. Despite their eagerness to work, many actively attend job fairs, submit numerous resumes and pursue available opportunities, yet receive limited responses from employers.
These experiences highlight the importance of creating a more inclusive job market where deaf individuals have equal opportunities to showcase their skills, demonstrate their potential and build meaningful careers.
The CariJob team spent the session listening to AOHD’s experiences, exchanging ideas and exploring ways to make employment opportunities more accessible to the deaf community. The discussion also opened up possibilities for collaboration and initiatives that could help connect deaf jobseekers with employers more effectively.
CariJob believes that finding a job should not be an uphill battle simply because of communication barriers or a lack of inclusive hiring practices. By understanding the challenges faced by different communities, we can work towards building a more accessible and inclusive employment ecosystem.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the AOHD team for sharing their valuable insights and for their continued efforts to support the deaf community.
This is only the beginning.
CariJob looks forward to exploring meaningful ways to support inclusive employment and help more jobseekers discover opportunities that match their skills and aspirations.
